2018

– the first stranger we prayed for in 2018 was a woman with a  plaster on their finger from a DIY injury. Immediately after prayer they said that it felt very hot.

– one of our occasional guests who had torn tendons in the back of his right knee (and who had just been to see a doctor) was prayed for and got completely healed – all movement instantly restored.

– one of us prayed for someone near their place of work who had slipped over and acquired back pain as a result. After a short prayer the pain was almost completely gone.

– one of us tried out a word of knowledge about a damaged knee with someone they parked next to at the beach. It was accurate and the recipient was totally shocked! His daughter agreed to pray for healing – no immediate change was discernible but the individual continued in his amazement as we moved on.

– one of us tried out a word of knowledge about a damaged shoulder with a group of three students near the cathedral. It was accurate for one of the guys, who could barely lift his shoulder following a fight. After the second prayer, all movement was entirely restored! He was shocked, both about the fact that someone could hear from God like that, and that his arm could be so instantly healed.

– one of us plus a leader from another church approached a group of students in the city to offer prayer. Some physical healing, an accurate word of knowledge identifying a birthday and a tangible experience of the Holy Spirit all took place within about 20 minutes.

– someone we see often accepted prayer because they had been diagnosed with a cancerous tumour in their stomach and were due to be operated on to have it removed. As we prayed, they described feeling as if two hands were strangling something within their stomach. We then heard that when they went in for surgery, they were given the all clear and there was no need to operate!

– one of us with their young child got to pray for a woman in the high street with arthritis in her hand and it immediately appeared to diminish.

– one of us got to lead a man in prayer for his wife’s foot, which was painful post surgery. There was immediate improvement in comfort and mobility.

– in a local supermarket two of us decided to approach some strangers and offer prayer. One lady with a historic foot injury started feeling intense heat, and then again when she agreed to ask Jesus there and then how he felt about her. Then we prayed for a store assistant who felt God’s love touch him and his whole countenance and mood dramatically lifted – he was delighted!

– one of our Saturday lunchtime guests with raging toothache accepted prayer and all the pain disappeared!  She said that she didn’t believe in God before, but then verbally thanked Him!

– one of us got to pray for a workman working in their street who had a degenerative spinal disease that, if unchecked, would eventually see him in a wheelchair. He felt heat in his back!

– two of us decided to meet at a high street fast food outlet and look for strangers to pray for there. One tried out a word of knowledge about a neck injury with one of the staff, and this totally got his attention because he had a history of dislocating his shoulder. Another staff member agreed to join us in praying for their colleague, and he felt tingling in his neck. He was keen to share how blessed he felt, and that he would pray later to ask Jesus to reveal himself to him!

– one of us, when approached in the street to be asked about considering free gym membership(!), tried out a word of knowledge about a right knee injury. The guy in question had a right knee injury from playing rugby, and it had become mildly arthritic. When I asked if I (and my young son) could pray for him, he beamed and said, ‘I love this stuff!’ my faith rocketed, and although he didn’t’t feel anything in his knee, he did note his foot twitch uncontrollably a few times which surprised him.
